Mackenzie Walter LPC-IT, ATR-P
I am an Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor with a deep commitment to holistic healing and creative expression. I hold a Masters of Science in Art Therapy with a Concentration in Counseling from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. My therapeutic approach integrates art, play, mindfulness, and body awareness to foster healing and self-discovery.
My practice focuses on teens (11-19), young adults, and adult women. I specialize in arts-based and experiential therapies alongside more traditional talk therapy, emphasizing somatic, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches. My areas of focus include: neurodivergence, self-advocacy, identity and self-exploration, working with self-esteem and self-image, gender, sexuality, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, stress and stress management, life transitions, athletic performance, and systems and system dynamics. I am passionate about supporting diverse communities and proudly identify as sex-positive, poly-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ friendly.
I am dedicated to cultivating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore and grow. Through authentic support, empathy, and compassion, I aim to foster deep therapeutic relationships that promote healing and resilience. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that addresses not only the presenting issue but also its impact on mental, emotional, and physical well-being, as well as relationships and environments. My goal is to empower clients to harness their inherent skills for meaningful change.
Let's connect and embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery together.
